Sugar Scrubs are easy to make at home, and a great way to improve your mood.
I remember going to a home party years ago, and they were offering the most magical of concoction. You placed a bit of this ‘gunk’ on your hands, rubbed it all over and then rinsed it under warm water. Your hands now smelled and felt wonderful. Fast forward to now!
When I started making my own sugar scrubs about a year ago, I looked up that product that I loved so much, and was shocked to see everything that was in it. I knew there had to be an alternative, so off to Pinterest I go. And I found exactly what I was looking for! Nice and simple, and all ingredients I can get at the local shop. For my home sugar scrub, I do it in 1 cup containers but for gifts, I do 1/2 cup (125 ml).
1 part sugar (I like to use organic sugar, mostly because it is a bit more coarse)
1 part organic coconut oil
I also add essential oils to this lovely concoction. Most of the time I use “To be Happy” because it has Grapefruit, Green Mandarin, Orange, Rose, Spearmint and Tangerine oils, and it is safe for children (my girls love it too!). I need about 6-8 drops for a 1 cup batch.
Other great oils for this are any of the above individually, and I also love the “To be at Peace” blend.
All Youngevity Essential Oils are 3rd party tested for quality and purity, so I know I can trust what I am using on myself, my children, or giving as gifts to friends and family!
